Within the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures we offer French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, and Spanish, as well as classes in Galician, Basque and Catalan. We offer more languages than other university in Ireland. We highlight the structures of language, the work of translation, and the importance of culture in all its forms. We offer three specialist cross-School taught Masters programmes: the MA in Applied Linguistics, the MA in Languages and Cultures and the MA in Translation Studies.
