The School of Pharmacy, UCC recently hosted a career seminar on April 12th, welcoming students from the Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmaceutical Regulatory Sciences, MSc in Industrial Pharmaceutical Sciences, Operations & Management, and Higher Diploma in Design and Manufacture of Biopharmaceuticals.
The seminar aimed to support students in navigating the landscape of career opportunities.
Tony Daly (Pfizer & Adjunct Snr Lecturer) shared insights into career development and recruitment processes within the pharmaceutical industry. His talk provided students with valuable tips on how to navigate the job market and position themselves for success.
Joseph Murphy and Siobhan Lane (Eli Lilly) shed light on the job opportunities available in Pharmaceutical Regulatory Sciences. Their presentations offered students a glimpse into potential career paths within the field and the skills required to thrive in these roles.
Deirdre Parker from UCC Careers Services provided students with an overview of the services and supports available to them through the university’s career services.
The seminar also welcomed back alumni from the Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmaceutical Regulatory Sciences, including Lorna English (HIQA), Christopher McCarthy (Merck), and Aisling Stack (Eli Lilly). They shared their career journeys and offered valuable advice to current students on leveraging their qualifications for career advancement.
