The annual postgraduate conference of the SMI and ICTMD Ireland takes place in Trinity College Dublin, 16-17 January 2025.
The Society for Musicology in Ireland (SMI) and the Irish National Committee of the International Council for Traditions of Music and Dance (ICTMD) have announced their annual joint postgraduate conference will take place at Trinity College Dublin on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 January 2025.
The event welcomes Dr Méabh Ní Fhuartháin (University of Galway) to give the 2025 keynote address entitled ‘Reviving Cultural Practice: Responses and Legacies in Sound and Movement.’
As in previous years, the postgraduate conference will include a Careers Forum with discussion of various topics relevant to early career researchers. The conference will feature the presentation of the Harry White Doctoral Prize, as well as a dedicated session featuring prize-winners of the annual CHMHE competition for undergraduate dissertations.
