As part of the Galway International Arts Festival’s ‘First Thought Talks’ series, Maynooth University‘s Sinéad Kennedy will be joining Senator Ivana Bacik and campaigners Gaye and Gerry Edwards on a dedicated panel. These experts will reflect on how personal storytelling played a large part in the Yes campaign to repeal the eighth amendment as well as discus the campaign and how matters stand now since the legislation was voted in. Journalist and broadcaster Marion Richardson will moderate the event.

About First Thought Talks
Galway International Arts Festival’s thought leadership platform puts a spotlight on issues of the day and showcases thought-provoking discussion on forward-thinking ideas and creative best practices. The programme includes discussions with both Irish and international thought leaders from a range of arts and non-arts disciplines, and aims to significantly progress the position of culture and creativity in society and make it a central pillar of Irish life.
